Jen Latourette
Balanced Body Pilates Teacher, MA in Kinesiology, Certified Yoga Instructor
Jen, a dedicated Balanced Body Pilates Teacher with a background in Kinesiology, has always been deeply involved in the world of movement and fitness. Growing up in a military family, she developed a love for sports and community-building through activities like swimming and cross country. With an MA in Kinesiology, specializing in Lifetime Fitness, Jen brings a wealth of knowledge to her teaching practice. As a certified yoga instructor and former massage therapist and personal trainer, she has honed her skills over years of experience, even running her own Fitness and Wellness business for nearly two decades.
Jen’s journey with Pilates began as a means of self-healing and pain management following a back injury, and she quickly recognized its transformative power. Inspired by the profound impact it had on her own body, she pursued Pilates teaching, training extensively under renowned instructors like Gwen Miller, Monica Anderson, and Enrique Poore, eventually becoming a Balanced Body comprehensive Pilates teacher. Her dedication extends beyond teaching as she continues to learn from the vibrant BDP community. Jen also shares her expertise as an educator, teaching Kinesiology and Pilates at Santa Rosa Junior College and offering spine-safe Pilates instruction for seniors.
Transitioning from a dedicated student to an instructor at BDP is a thrilling opportunity for Jen, who feels honored to be part of such a supportive community. She is eager to share her passion for Pilates with others, guiding them on their own transformative journeys. When she’s not in the studio, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and beloved dog, exploring the outdoors on her bike, and volunteering with Canine Companions for Independence alongside her husband Dave. Together, they cherish the adventures of traveling the world and discovering new destinations.
